Description

  • Should be responsible to review and manage all Contracts and Commercial
  • department, pre and post contract of the project
  • Identify risks and issues, suggests alternatives that lead to the best solution in pre as well as post contracts.
  • Review the project scope and identify & report the Scope deviations to the Project Directors.
  • Responsible to liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
  • Responsible to manage the Bank Guarantees of Tender, Advance payment, Project Performance and Defects Liability.
  • Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management.
  • Supervision of Quantity Surveyor / Junior QS for Quantification of Variations, Pricing of Variation claims, evaluation with PQS and Finalization of Variation Orders
  • Supervision of the Planners for Scheduling & Monitoring the Progress of the works, delays & disruption of the Project and Preparation of Claims for delays & Time extension and associated Costs (EOT and Prolongation Cost Claims)
  • Monitoring all potential claim issues, co-ordinate to collect all data and information to support the claims
  • Reviews and manages contractual obligations of the parties associated with the contract and provides continual review to ensure that all terms and conditions are met.
  • Prepares and disseminates information regarding contract status, compliance, modifications, etc.
  • Responsible for consultation and escalation to a senior director, of contractual, business or CM positioning issues which are not solved satisfactorily by the project team in a timely manner
  • Monthly Progressive Billing / Invoicing and follow-up for timely payments
  • Review company’s pre-qualification questionnaire, compile tender documents (technical bid and commercial bid), reviewing all conditions of contract terms in line with standard forms of contract and as per international norms, participating in all tender bid discussions till contract finalization.
  • Timely notification of known delays / disruptions / extra work by making regular contemporary records through project team as delays stoppages arise.
  • Responsible to take a lead role in pre function of a comprehensive BOQ for valuation and cost accounting purpose.
  • Liaison with project team in seeking Extension of Time, and drafting where applicable also formulation of Variation orders.
  • To leaad the procurement team in all phases - from tendering throughout
  • To manage vendor relationships and assisting in the building of effective partnerships
  • Planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications
  • Revision and Minimization of any imposition of Liquidated Damages by follow up with project team for Extension of Time.
  • Post Contract administration of contracts including processing of interim applications for payment, preparation / evaluation of claims, variations and settlement of final account.
