establish high quality plumbing and fire suppression services best practices, and procedures to ensure effective design reviews and construction management. • Contribute in the development of working templates for establishing client requirements, conducting site studies and provide support for consultants, sub consultants and contractors. • Contribute in the development of guidelines for value engineering process during design and help onsite teams to deliver high quality plumbing and fire suppression solutions ensuring compliance with governing regulation, sustainability and HSE standards.• Ensure appropriate usage and application of the Project Management System with respect to entry and analysis of work related data to facilitate seamless communication of all relevant (technical/non-technical) information across the organization on a real time basis for maximum effectiveness.Provide Design & Construction Management Support A- Design Phase• Contribute the in development of a “working life templates” to capture client’s intent and project’s requirements.• Assist in preparation and development of RFP scope of services for consultants by establishing plumbing and fire suppression deliverables matrix for each design stage phased gateways.• Assist on responding to tenders queries.• Conduct a design review, at each phased gateways, for all plumbing and fire suppression submissions and ensure completeness, correctness and compliance with scope of work. Ensure incorporation of comment’s from previous design reviews. • Review and comment hydraulic, load calculations and B.O.Q.• Review utilities connection-points and ensure that public health and fire suppression systems loads’ are in-line with the development supplied utility capacities. • Evaluate the consultant’s performance and report to the MEP/Utilities Manager on work progress, areas of concern and mitigations plans as per contract’s scope of services.• Propose alternative solutions to improve design, delivery processes and cost through value engineering workshops.• Review, comment and action consultant’s queries, RFIs as required.• Contribute in the evaluation of variation orders/concession requests submitted by the Design Consultant(s) for client's approval.• Maintain record of design deliverables for plumbing and fire suppression systems and manage, in a timely manner, submittals and correspondences received.• Monitor NOC’s procurement and coordinate externally with local authorities regarding the applicable regulation.• Contribute in the contractor’s tender evaluation process. B- Construction Phase• Acquire a detailed understanding of the Contract documents (drawings, reports specifications and BoQ), and advise project managers on matters related to MEP & Utilities systems.• Perform field activities such as observing and recording existing site conditions undertake and verify measurements, review contractors’ claims, against the discipline documents.• Monitor the flow of contractor’s as-built drawings and submittals, review them and raise issues and suggest alternative solutions.• Monitor the onsite activities to ensure alignment with the service agreements.• Assist in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules and prepare recommendations on claims.• Liaise with consultants, MEP supervisory engineers, inspectors, local authorities and ministerial agencies and assist the construction manager in monitoring NOC`s procurement, quality reporting, quality audits on materials on site and permits with authorities.• Review, comment and action contractor’s RFI`s before submission to consultant’s.• Review and comment on consultant’s feedback regarding materials’ submittals before reverting back to the contractors.• Monitor site specific plumbing and fire suppression purchasing activities so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled for delivering in time and high quality solution.• Contribute in developing value engineering opportunities and provide feedback to the project manager and construction manager. • Assess risks related to the site activities and provide input to the risk register maintained by project manager.Coordinate with project sites to monitor Mechanical engineering activities for analysis and improvements• Coordinate and manage the on-site activities work of all plumbing and fire suppression activities. Advise and monitor onsite engineers as required.• Work with the line manager to resolve raided issue from project sites.• Serve as the centralized resource for all matters related to plumbing and fire suppression services quality and provide feedback as required.• Coordinate with other disciplines such as: architectural, structural, landscape, acoustic, HVAC, electrical, ICT, security and advise design managers as necessary.Coordinate with other teams to enhance QPM solutions and its vision to be a world class PMC• Interface with clients in relation to project activities.• Coordinate with QA and HSE teams to ensure compliance of mechanical engineering design with all Quality and HSE requirements• Collaborate with other construction mechanical engineering disciplines to enhance QPM’s overall solution.Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices and apply the same for continuous improvements at QPM• Establish and develop professional relationships with peer professionals in the industry to track industry practices and innovation.• Meet clients to obtain feedback on QPM’s design and construction management methodologies and outcomes and use the same to make appropriate adjustment.• Maintain awareness of industry trends, methodologies, tools and best practices.• Adopt and adapt good practices from the industry into QPM to ensure continuous rejuvenation and upgrades to QPM’s engineering capabilities.
